PEACE LILY ENJOYS INDOOR HABITAT.(HOUSE-HOME)

Winter has long been declared houseplant growing season and many of your recent questions reflect just that.

DEAR NANCY: About two weeks ago, I received a peace lily, which came in a very shallow pot. I'm getting new flowers so it must like the bright southeast facing windows, but it came without watering instructions. I couldn't find much in my gardening books about its requirements. -- Mary McEwan DEAR MARY: Your peace lily is a member of the genus Spathiphyllum, which when translated simply describes its elegant flower, a large pair of bracts (the white hood of the flower) shield the unusually shaped, bumpy flower cluster or spadix.
