Qld: Police refusing to confirm murder-suicide reports
TOWNSVILLE, Qld, Dec 8 AAP - Police are refusing to confirm reports a fire which killed
a mother and daughter in Townsville was part of a murder-suicide.
A Brisbane Courier-Mail report today said police believed the 35-year-old pregnant
woman orchestrated her own death and that of her one-year-old daughter.
But a police spokesman told AAP he could not confirm the report.
"Inquiries are continuing," he said.
The spokesman said the results of a post mortem examination on the two bodies would
probably not be available until early in the New Year.
The bodies were found in the charred ruins of the family's home last Sunday after a
blaze engulfed the back bedroom.
The deaths were being treated as suspicious, police said.
