VIC:Grants for thise hit by Xmas Day storms
The Victorian government is making up to 12-hundred dollars per family available to
help cope with the aftermath of the Christmas Day storms in Melbourne and parts of Victoria,
and up to 30-thousand dollars for homes that need major repairs or rebuilding.
The payments are being made under the personal hardship grants to help families get
back on their feet after the wild weather that brought huge hailstones and flash flooding.
Acting Premier and Emergency Services Minister PETER RYAN says the event could not
have come at a worse time and the Government is working hard to ensure affected households
can receive help where necessary.
